Five Famous themes by Tarrega

Francisco Tarrega (1852-1909) was a Spanish guitarist composer who lived in the latter part of the 19th Century. He composed some of the best known pieces for the Spanish guitar. Born in Castellon, Tarrega took lessons in guitar and piano as a boy. He studied composition at Madrid Conservatory and by his Twenties was performing concerts around Europe and teaching. Some of his pupils included Emilio Pujol and Miguel Llobet . He was one of the first guitarists to transcribe piano works by composers such as Beethoven, Chopin and Albeniz.

His most famous pieces include Recuerdos De La Alhambra, Gran Vals, L’Agrima, Danza Mora and Capriccio Arabe.
