Andantino by Carcassi

Matteo Carcassi was an Italian classical guitarist and composer who toured Europe in the first half of the 19th Century. He wrote an important guitar method The Carcassi Method Op 59 (Paris 1836) and Op 60 : 25 studies are popular classical etudes. He was a contemporary of other guitar virtuosi of the time  Carulli, Sor and Giuliani.

This piece is from one his Guitar Method. It features arpeggios in C major playing thumb and fingers together with an alternating open string. This is a common guitar technique for arpeggiating chords, we will explore this in more detail in the Giuliani Arpeggios. Make sure to give equal weight to both the bass and treble part but less so on the open middle voice.
